ENGINE COMPANY RESPONDS TO EARLY MORNING
GARAGE FIRE IN MOOSUP
Monday, March 3, 2008
At 00:45 minutes
this morning QV dispatched the Moosup Fire Department, along with a
first alarm assignment, to a well-involved garage fire on North Main
Street in their first due. Mutual aid companies on the
assignment were Central Village, Atwood Hose, and FAST responses
from Plainfield and Danielson. Moosup Chief Theriault (C-94)
arrived minutes after the initial dispatch and reported heavy fire
involvement in a 20' x 30' wood frame garage with exposure to an
adjacent residence. Moosup's L-194 arrived and placed their
front bumper line into operation between the involved garage and
residential exposure preventing further property damage.
ET-197 pulled up moments later with five (5) members, and was
requested to deploy their front bumper line to assist with
extinguishment efforts. Moosup and Central Village crews had
the main body of fire knocked down within 10 minutes and began
overhauling. Command returned FAST crews, however requested
Plainfield to the scene for ET-295. Atwood Hose members
checked exposures with negative findings. ET-197 operated for
approximately one (1) hour before returning from the Almyville
section of Moosup.
