CENTRAL VILLAGE RUNS A TWO-CAR ON MAIN STREET

Saturday, March 29, 2008

Shortly after 18:00 hours QV Dispatch alerted Central Village Fire units of a two-car accident on Main Street in the area of Tillinghast Funeral Home.  ET-197, with Chief Lewis (C-97), was on the air within minutes and responded with a crew of four (4).  First arriving Assistant Chief Irons
(C-297) reported that the incident was minor in nature, and only one (1) occupant from the involved vehicles was requesting transport.  The crew from ET-197 arrived and secured all hazards associated with the vehicles, which included a small amount of haz-mat in the roadway.  Additional Central Village personnel cared for the injured party until being transferred to the Mortlake Ambulance.  Station 97 units held the scene with the Plainfield Police for 40 minutes before returning to service.
