CENTRAL
VILLAGE FAST CALLED TO BROOKLYN
Tuesday, February 12, 2008
Just as weekly training at
Station 97 was about to commence, QV Dispatch alerted the Mortlake FD of
a reported basement fire on Day Street in their first due. The
structure fire assignment was dispatched bringing 90, 92, ET-161 and a
FAST response from 96 & 97 to the scene. With the station well
staffed, ET-197 was on the air immediately with six (6) FAST members
leaving additional crews in quarters. Mortlake Chief Guari (C-90)
arrived on scene minutes later and reported that the small fire in the
electrical panel of the residence had been extinguished. Mortlake
and East Brooklyn units proceeded to the scene for ventilation, and the
balance of the assignment was released. ET-197 returned to service
from South Brooklyn.
