SMOKE
SHOWING FROM MOOSUP HOUSE

Shortly after 07:00 hours QV
Dispatch started taking calls for smoke showing from the second floor of
a two and a half (2-1/2) woodframe dwelling on Harris Road in the Moosup
section of Plainfield. The structure fire assignment was
immediately dispatched bringing mutual aid from Central Village, Atwood
Hose, Plainfield (ET-295), Oneco (ET-268), and a Danielson FAST response
to the scene. ET-197 responded on the run with four (4) members
under the direction of Chief Lewis (C-97). Moosup Deputy Chief
Yellen (C-194) was the first officer to reach the scene confirming a
heavy smoke condition from the rear of the structure on the second
floor. Arriving crews from 94, 97 & 96 immediately went to work
locating the seat of the fire while other personnel conducted primary
and secondary searches of the residence. All occupants evacuated
prior to the fire department's arrival. The fire was located and
confined to the room of origin. Mutual aid companies held the
scene to assist with overhaul until 08:10. |
