SHARPENS SKILLS AT ELEVATOR RESCUE DRILL

This evening members drilled
on elevator rescue procedures at the old Plainfield High School building
on Putnam Road. Prior to heading to the drill site, personnel
reviewed the department's guideline pertaining to incidents of this
nature, and also outlined the evening's training and safety objectives.
Members took part in scenario-based evolutions requiring them to access
a stalled elevator car, descend into the shaft to the roof of the car,
and remove a victim through the car's top-hatch. The training
exercise proved to be quite beneficial for all personnel in attendance.
