CENTRAL VILLAGE ON 2 BRUSH FIRES IN 2 HOURS....
MUTUAL AID THEN FIRST DUE

Friday, April 18, 2008

At 10:06 Central Village units were added to a brush fire assignment on Finn Road in Canterbury.  F-197 & ET-197 responded with combined staffing of four (4) members.  Command advised incoming Station 97 units that F-197 would assist with extinguishment efforts on the Northern flank of the fire, while ET-197 supplied it's load of water.  Crews operated in Canterbury until 11:24 until having to quickly free up to respond back to Central Village for a brush fire on Old Black Hill Road.  Due to the delayed response time for F-197 & ET-197, a brush assignment from the Moosup Fire Department was dispatched.  Station 94 had F-194 "The Mule" & ET-194 on the air in moments with five (5) members.  Both Central Village and Moosup units arrived at the same time and brought the fire under control within five (5) minutes.  Stations 97 & 94 held the scene until 12:15 before returning to service.
